The Elliott Community
Volunteers are needed at the Elliott Community, which is a long-term care and retirement living facility. The establishment is looking for dedicated volunteers to make social visits with residents. Parkwood Gardens Neighborhood Group

YMCA/YWCA
The YMCA promotes healthy active living for all members of the community. They are in need of volunteers to help run the programs in their facility. Current available volunteer positions include swim instructor assistants, and Wiggles & Giggles instructors. The swim instructor assistant positions are great experience for one day becoming a swim instructor. The duties of the assistant include assisting with youth-level swimming lessons, leading pool activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and greeting swimmers and parents to create a welcome atmosphere. Wiggles & Giggles offers programs for parents and children to interact together. Volunteers should ideally be able to entertain children and babies, talk to parents, and organize and create activities for the participants.
