Men’s basketball vs. Queen’s  

Gryphons 74, Gaels 77

The basketball home openers brought a packed crowd of Gryphon fans eager to see how the two teams will build off their exciting seasons from last year. The men’s team controlled much of the game against Queen’s, but couldn’t hold onto their lead in the fourth quarter as they lost by only three points. They have one win and one loss to their name so far this season.


Women’s basketball vs. Queen’s

Gryphons 47, Gaels 63

The women’s basketball team lost their second game of the season in their home opener against Queen’s. The team is rebuilding after their impressive season last year. New head coach Mark Walton will be back to the drawing board as they gear up to face some tough challenges ahead.

Men 10th place

The women’s cross country team continued their national winning streak as they won their 12th consecutive national title. Standout runner Katelyn Ayers won the bronze medal after a brilliant individual performance. The men’s team dropped to 10th place this year, but with a new and young squad there is no doubting that they will be back stronger next year.


Women’ hockey vs. York and Western

Gryphons 3, Mustangs 2

The women’s hockey team extended their winning streak to six games as they took down the York Lions and Western Mustangs. The red-hot team will continue their battle for OUA domination against the Nipissing Lakers on Fri, Nov. 18.


Men’s hockey vs. Queen’s and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT)

Gryphons 2, Gaels 3

Gryphons 1, Ridgebacks 3

The men’s hockey team dropped two hard fought battles on the road against Queen’s and UOIT. Next, the team faces a double-header against a competitive Lakehead team and will be looking to get some much needed wins.  


Men’s volleyball vs. Waterloo

Gryphons 3, Warriors 0

The men’s volleyball team took down Waterloo in style, defeating them in three straight sets—25-23, 25-20 and 25-22—to spoil the Warriors’ home opener. The Gryphons will play the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in their home opener on Fri, Nov. 18.


Women’s volleyball vs. Waterloo

Gryphons 1, Warriors 3

Despite winning the first set 25-22, the women’s volleyball team lost three sets in a row as they were handed their third loss of the season. Waterloo battled back after the first set and took the next three 25-23, 25-19, and 25-19. The Gryphons will look to bounce back in their home opener against RMC on Fri, Nov. 18.
