The Gryphon women’s hockey team is moving on to the OUA West semifinals after sweeping the Windsor Lancers in the first round of the playoffs. Guelph will continue to defend their 2016 OUA title as they face Waterloo in the next round.
Men’s hockey vs. York

The men’s hockey team’s season ended after a loss in the OUA West semifinals to the York Lions. The Lions swept the series and will move on to the finals next week. The Gryphons will have to wait until next year for another shot at the Queen’s Cup.
Women’s volleyball vs. Trent and Toronto

Gryphons 2, Varsity Blues 3
The women’s volleyball team won one and lost one in their final two games of the regular season. The team finished with a record of 12 wins and seven losses, and will move on to face Ryerson in the OUA quarterfinal on March 4.
Men’s volleyball vs. Trent and Toronto

The Gryphons swept both Trent and Toronto in their final games of the season, setting them up in a good position for playoffs. The men’s volleyball team finished second in the OUA West standings and will battle Nipissing in the quarterfinal at home on March 4.
Swimming @ U Sports Championships
The men’s and women’s swim teams showed well at the U Sports championship, with the women finishing in 13th place and the men in 12th place. Evan Van Moerkerke and Emily Anzai finished the weekend with bronze medals for the Gryphons.
Track and field @ OUA Championships
The track and field team won the OUA championships in both the men’s and women’s division. It is the first banner sweep for the Gryphons since 2013.
Nordic skiing @ OUA Championships
The women’s team finished with a bronze medal and the men’s team finished sixth place after two grueling days of competition.
Wrestling @ U Sports Championships
The men’s team finished in 10th place overall, while the Gryphon women finished second overall. Gracelynn Doogan brought home a gold medal for the Gryphons, becoming the national champion in the 72 kg category.
