Women’s hockey vs. Waterloo

The OUA semi-finals, a best of three series, came down to the tie-breaking game as the Gryphons faced off against the Warriors. The women’s hockey team defeated the warriors in their first meeting, but after a narrow loss in the second game of the series, it all came down to one final game. The Gryphons showed their composure as they won the last game 4-1, reaching their third consecutive OUA McCaw cup. They will look to defend their 2016 title on Sat, Mar. 11, against the Nipissing Lakers.

Women’s volleyball vs. Ryerson

Gryphons 0, Rams 3

The women’s volleyball team’s season came to a close on Sat, Mar. 4, after losing the OUA quarterfinal game in three straight sets to the number two ranked Ryerson Rams. Victoria Golebiowski led the team in offensive points with 11 kills and two aces.

Men’s volleyball vs. Nipissing      

Gryphons 3, Lakers 1

After losing the first set, the men’s volleyball team came back to win three in a row and move on to the next round of the playoffs. The game marked their first appearance in the playoffs since 2012. The Gryphons will compete in the OUA final four hosted by McMaster. They will face the Waterloo Warriors in the semifinals on Fri, Mar. 10, with the hopes of moving on to the final and U Sports qualification on Saturday.
