College Royal courtesy
I was one of the happy visitors to College Royal this past Sunday, March 19. I came with my daughter and grandson and there was plenty to interest each of us. Without exception, everyone who served in a staff or volunteer position was helpful and friendly and it certainly made for a great experience.
The only downer was that I lost my wallet with all my identity and bank cards, not to mention an amount of cash that really hurt to have go missing.
But then, Nick from Hospitality Services called early the next morning to say that my wallet had found its way to his desk and that I could come and pick it up.
Unless you have lost a similar item, it’s hard to describe how grateful it makes one feel to have a lost wallet returned intact.
To the person who scooped my property and turned it in, I cannot begin to thank you: for the time, effort, and money you saved me, certainly, but more importantly, thank you for being the kind and honest human being who puts “doing the right thing” ahead of personal gain.
I understand that College Royal has been a fixture of the University of Guelph for more than 90 years. It’s not hard to see why!
