ARCH raises community awareness

Tom Hammond, executive director of HIV/AIDS Resources and Community Health (ARCH), dyed his hair red because his team raised $2,500 for the event.

ARCH has a significant retention rate of volunteers who end up becoming staff or peers in the program,” said a participant of the event.

“A lot of the volunteer have backgrounds [or] living experience with HIV and AIDS. It touches all of them one way or another,” said a participant.

“ARCH is a progressive organization that changes with what the world demands,” said a participant.

“ARCH partners with other programs in Guelph, ACCKWA [the AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo & Area], and other [LQBTQ+] groups in surrounding areas,” said a participant.

ARCH’s vision statement is: “We dream of a time and place where everyone is free to live healthy, stigma-free, vital lives.”
