22 Ways to Keep Busy at Home

Okay, so you’re trapped inside…

here are lots of easy and free things you can do while at home, but some of the most important things you can do to keep yourself in order while socially isolating or self-quarantining are shower, get dressed, and make your bed. It may sound a little silly, but they will make you feel better.

  1. Sign up for a free trial of Netflix or Crave or Disney+
  2. Listen to some music
  3. Try crafting or making art
  4. Cook or bake (or learn how to cook or bake)
  5. Exercise from home (Youtube has some great yoga tutorials)
  6. Take a walk outside
  7. Read a classic book for free online
  8. Free public domain audiobooks
  9. Browse exhibits at the U of G Library online
  10. Take a virtual tour of museums and heritage sites
  11. Tour the Louvre online
  12. Explore the British Museum Online
  13. Take a course through the library
  14. Do a puzzle!
  15. Write a poem or short story (and send it to The Ontarion)
  16. Spend some time playing your favourite video game or try one out you haven’t before
  17. Play a board game and if you aren’t with your friends or family, try playing on Skype or Facetime
  18. Build a fort and have an indoor campout
  19. Start a journal 
  20. Do an early spring cleaning of your home or room
  21. Practice learning another language
  22. Have a home spa day (there are plenty of DIY face mask recipes online)
