The University of Guelph has Announced Two Interim Leaders

The University has announced Gwen Chapman, dean of the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, as interim provost and vice-president (academic), as well as Martha Harley, associate vice-president (human resources), as interim vice-president (finance, administration and risk).

Charlotte Yates, current provost and vice-president (academic), will become president on Aug. 2 while Don O’Leary, current vice-president (finance, administration and risk), is set to retire in August.

“(Chapman and Harley’s) combined knowledge, experience and skills will be invaluable in helping us navigate the challenges ahead and in ensuring a successful transition,” said Yates in a news release.

Chapman will begin her new role on Aug. 2 , while Harley will begin on July 1.

Both of these roles will be handled by them while the University continues to search to fill the roles permanently.
