This summer, students, staff and visitors at the University of Guelph have the choice to go mask-free.
As of July 1, students at the University of Guelph will no longer be required to wear masks indoors at all University facilities, or outdoors on campus, according to a press release from the University.
The release states that the lifting of masking requirements aims to be in line with public health requirements in learning facilities.
It also states that the masking requirement may come back at any time as the university will continue to monitor the need for masking, specifically for the upcoming fall semester.
Students and visitors can still choose to wear masks in buildings around campus and are being encouraged to stay vigilant with self-monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms.
Community members are encouraged to be understanding and kind regardless of whether someone chooses to wear a mask or not.
