To whom it may concern,
In our beautiful city of Guelph, we have many organizations that promote becoming more environmentally friendly. From city funded programs to university student run projects, it spreads the awareness of becoming more eco-friendly and protecting our Earth. In my opinion, the projects that run now are doing an excellent job on working with the public on controlling small habits that pollute our environment and destroy our Earth. As the city of Guelph is known to being green, we as the citizens could do more to become even more environmentally friendly by creating bigger and more greener projects.
These projects could vary from promoting installations of solar panels across the city homes, to preventing large privately owned business to pollute our city natural environment. As new technology is being created everyday, we could look for ways on lowering the cost of solar panels and create an energy plan that rewards people who install the panels. In a way, the owners of the house would be able to sell their unused solar energy back to the city.
By reducing pollution from getting into the environment around us, we could create petitions or even peacefully protest to prevent big corporations from polluting the water systems located in Guelph and around Ontario. If we could prompt an eventual reduction of pollution being released into the environment around Guelph, it would dramatically affect the surrounding ecosystems in a positive way. We should preserve the habitats for the animals and ourselves.
In conclusion, we as a city are doing many outstanding job at making small projects that affect the city, making the city more beautiful and greener. But this is just a start to becoming a true green city. We have to look for bigger and better projects to improve our city and reduce harming the ecosystems around Guelph. We as a city could make this change, but it starts with us to start the effect. We have the power, and we could even impact other cities and even countries to think like us.
Sincerely,
Michal Puzio
