The Royal City Roller Girls went head-to-head at their home opener at Exhibition Arena on May 7, 2016. Having just added a new team, RCRG now has five teams under their umbrella, and is a growing force in the world of roller derby. At the double-header, Our Ladies of Pain won their first match against the Tri-City Roller Derby’s Total Knock Outs. The second match was won by Violet Uprising, who battled their RCRG sister team, Killer Queens.

The Ontarion is the University of Guelph’s independent student newspaper. It began in 1951 as part of the Ontario Agricultural College and then began to represent the entire University of Guelph once it amalgamated in 1964. The Ontarion incorporated in May 1970 as The Ontarion, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation registered with the province of Ontario.
