Album of the Week

Uprising (1980) was the last studio album from Bob Marley and the Wailers before Marley passed away the following year at the early age of 36. Born in the Nine Mile region of Jamaica, Marley’s music was all about spreading positive vibes and unity through soulful bass-heavy grooves and powerful lyrics that were only enhanced by his unique reggae background and voice. Songs like “Coming in from the Cold” and “Redemption Song” speak to all human beings by crossing cultures and continents. With the colder months and shorter days ahead, and many people feeling the stresses of school and life, Marley’s music will uplift your spirits and put things into perspective to make you feel a sense of gratitude. As Marley himself said, “When one door is closed, don’t you know, another is open?” Do your mind, body, and soul a favour and check this album out!
