Album of the Week

The Grammy Award-winning supergroup Them Crooked Vultures consists of drummer Dave Grohl (of Nirvana and Foo Fighters), guitarist and vocalist Joshua Homme (of Queens of the Stone Age) and bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones (of Led Zeppelin).

The self-titled album from 2009 is the only album the power trio ever released with no follow-up mentioned to date.

The virtuosity of the bandmates is evident in every song and each member brings their unique talent to the table in creating a soulful-bluesy-rock album that’s intricate in its composition yet pleasing to the ears.

With lyrics like “You can’t always do right, but you can always do what’s left,” sung by Homme on “No One Loves Me & Neither Do I,” combined with the tight rhythm and hard grooves of Jones and Grohl, the songs provide a rich full sound that is sure to keep you wanting more.
