The women’s basketball team’s 2016 to 2017 season came to a close on Sat, Feb. 18. An exciting late push in the season was not enough to make the playoffs this year. However, with the majority of their team returning next season, the Gryphons have an exciting future ahead.
Men’s basketball vs. Waterloo

The Gryphons narrowly missed making playoffs this year despite winning their last game of the season against the Waterloo Warriors. The men’s basketball team finished their 2016 to 2017 season with a record of six wins and 13 losses.
Women’s hockey vs. Windsor and Nipissing

The women’s hockey team finished the regular season ranked number one in the OUA and second in the country. They face Windsor in the first round of the playoffs as they look to defend their OUA title from last year.
Men’s hockey vs. Brock

Gryphons 4, Badgers 3
The men’s hockey team defeated the Brock Badgers in the OUA west quarter finals. The best of three series saw the Gryphons win twice in a row to move onto the semifinals. The team faces the York Lions in the next round as they continue their campaign towards OUA gold.
Women’s volleyball vs. Ryerson

The women’s volleyball team lost their four-game winning streak as they were defeated by the Ryerson rams in three sets to one on Fri, Feb. 17. The Gryphons have two games remaining in the regular season and will face Trent next, followed by Toronto.
Men’s volleyball vs. Ryerson
Gryphons 0, Rams 3
The men’s volleyball team lost in three straight sets to Ryerson. Despite the loss, Guelph remains in second place in the OUA west standings with two games left in the season.
