In pictures: Yoga scientist hosts Ananda Yoga session at U of G

Sri Ananda Ji spoke of the benefits of Ananda Yoga on mental health in Peter Clark Hall on May 16.

“Ananda Yoga is a separate theme in the field of yoga; it combines the four streams of yoga and leads us to a place of happiness within,” Sri Ananda Ji told The Ontarion

He also explained that Ananda Yoga is a combination of science and philosophy: “Ananda Yoga is not only for the physical body but to uplift the full consciousness.”

Sri Ananda Ji demonstrated different breathing techniques as well as release noises, such as a dog barking. He also sang a variety of hymns to relax the roomful of attendees.

The yoga session ended with a group photo. Sri Ananda Ji also took selfies with his guests.

After the event, those in attendance were invited to stay for a one-on-one yogic consultation with Sri Ananda Ji so they could ask questions about yoga or health issues.
