John Kissick has entered a peace bond with a former girlfriend, Talia Yeo
UPDATE: The Ontarion reached out to the courts and confirmed that the charges against Talia Yeo for failure to attend court, two counts of criminal harassment, and two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking have been dropped in accordance to the peace bond.
Original story follows.
University of Guelph Fine Arts professor and Artist, John Kissick, was charged with assault in 2018, after a video was posted to his former girlfriend Talia Yeo’s Facebook and Instagram. In the video, a man appears to strike the person recording the video with an unknown object.
On Monday, the charges against Kissick were dismissed and both parties have agreed to enter into a mutual peace bond.
“[The peace bond] will let both parties get on with their lives,” Kissick’s defence attorney Michelle Dwyer told Justice Gary Hearn.
Yeo is currently facing charges of failure to attend court, two counts of criminal harassment, and two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.
Yeo’s charges, as of this writing, have not been dealt with and she was not present in court on Monday.
Kissick is currently on leave from the University of Guelph. University spokesperson Lori Bona-Hunt said that Kissick is still a professor at the university and is currently on a prearranged research leave.
