U of G students now have access to COVID-19 testing right on campus.
As of this past Monday, U of G students can get tested for COVID-19 at the J.T. Powell Building through Student Health Services during the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays.
To get tested, students don’t require referrals, but must schedule an appointment by calling Student Health Services at 519-824-4120 ext. 52131. Upon arrival students must present their health card, even if it’s expired.
Students who are symptomatic or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be prioritized for testing. Student Health Services recommends those concerned about potential exposure at an event who are not experiencing symptoms to wait five to seven days after exposure to get tested.
Public Health only calls those who test positive.
Since the fall semester began on Sept. 10, there has been one confirmed case of COVID-19 reported on the Guelph campus. Students may check the U of G’s COVID-19 website for updates on case numbers.
